Being home the past 13 months during the pandemic has reinforced how important family is to the core of my being.  I have cherished every moment with my daughter, Aruna, have loved having my dad live with us half of the time (the other half with my brother), and melted when my sister and I were both fully vaccinated (she is a teacher) and could actually HUG each other after a year!!  I look forward to moments of normalcy in these abnormal times.

A caveat to what I just wrote above is that the pandemic is far from being over so it’s important for us to remind ourselves to maintain a social distance, wave instead of hand-shake, wash our hands frequently, and follow the CDC guidelines. I wish you all a happy, safe, and meaningful week.

Happy Week 29, everyone!

–Shyla.

Updates for In-Person Learning at CNH

Everyone who signed up for the Outdoor Hands-On learning was able to receive their first choice! Official notifications will be sent by Kachaelar Jones on Tuesday, April 6.

Important reminders for every student:

  • This week, April 6-9, school will be dismissed at lunch time (12:30) so that teachers can prepare for the in-person rooms and activities. All classes after lunch (1:15-2:30) will be asynchronous.

  • Starting on April 12, we are flipping our Wednesday and Friday schedule.  This means that the classes that a student has attended on Wednesdays they will now attend on Fridays.  Inversely, a student’s Friday schedule will be on Wednesday.

  • The targeted in-person instruction will be scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

  • Wednesdays will be fully virtual for all students.

  • Fridays will be the hands-on project-based learning from 8:30-12:30 that we had originally planned for Wednesdays.

We are looking to interview and offer the position to someone within the next week. Thanks, in advance, for reaching out to your networks to help us find someone!
