The Earth Day Celebration on Saturday was wonderful!  We had students, parents/guardians, City Neighbors High School students here to help clean-up the neighborhood, plant native flowers and plants, make art about the earth, make t-shirts, and relax to some great music.  THANK YOU to the Community Relations and Facilities committees for making this event happen again this year!

Have a great week!

–Dr. Shyla.

New Dismissal Procedure

This is a friendly reminder that we returned to outdoor dismissal on the grass in front of the school last week.  This means that you will park your car either in the parking lot behind the building or in legal spaces in the neighborhood and walk to the grass in front of the school to pick up your child(ren).  You may neither stop nor park on the right-hand side of Sefton.

It has been quite lovely seeing the community outside, lingering a little bit with one another, and being in community.  So needed!

Progress Report Conferences Next Week

Our Trimester 3 Progress Report Conferences are next week, May 4-6.  We will dismiss at 1:00 each day. Conferences may be either in-person or online.

Aftercare will be scheduled as normal (1:15-6:00 on Wednesdays, 3:30-6:00 on Thursday and Friday),  CNH Support teachers will be responsible for aftercare students from 1:00-3:30 on Thursday and Friday next week so that they can stay at the school until their aftercare program begins.

MCAP Testing Schedule

Below is the MCAP schedule for this Spring.  I’d like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to Liz Mencer and Kim Farley for managing everything with testing for this year.  It has surely been a heavy lift with Fall MCAP, Spring MCAP, as well as the Science and Social Studies tests.  They thoughtfully scheduled testing for part of each day, rather than consolidated into a number of packed days with testing that completely drains the kids.

Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep the night before each of their testing days. We will do our best to minimize the stress of testing and to help them remain centered and calm throughout each day.
