Last Friday I saw three Robins in the tree outside of my daughter’s bedroom window.  Today I heard an orchestra of birds chirping around my house as the birds seem to be returning for Spring.  With the 10-Day forecast in Baltimore in the 50’s most days, it’s going to feel so great!  We DO still have another month until the official Spring Equinox on March 20th, but let’s allow ourselves to savor these next days of warmer weather and sunshine.

In the last 75 days of the school year, we have a lot to accomplish — stay on track with our curricula throughout the school, continue to engage students in even more meaningful ways, work to provide targeted in-person instruction beginning April 12th, build a budget for the school year next year, and end the year with both strong academic growth and emotionally well-balanced and happy students. In this past year of the pandemic, I have greatly appreciated your partnership, communication, and dedication to the school as a whole.  I look forward to ending the year strong and in partnership.

Happy Week 24, everyone!

–Shyla.

For both topics, we are asking for your feedback, priorities, and wishes for the school. We look forward to sharing these ideas with you and hearing your feedback.  So grateful for your participation!

Assessment Week March 1-5

Our next Assessment Week, in preparation for Trimester 3 small group instruction, is scheduled for March 1-5. Having this week allows teachers to meet with students 1:1, in small groups, and with virtual diagnostic tools to assess where students have grown academically and where they need more support.  Keep an eye out in each grade-level Monday Mailers for more information on the schedule for that week as it breaks from the structures of our regular academic weeks.
