In these cold, grey days of February, it’s so important to find good forms of celebration throughout the month! This entire month, we are celebrating the accomplishments of Black Americans in all of our classes for Black History Month. This week, we will celebrate the 100th day of school on Wednesday. Next week on Monday, we will celebrate Rolling with Your Sweetheart.  The following week, we will celebrate 2/22/22. The last week in February, we will celebrate school spirit with a CNH Gear Day where students can make their own CNH gear! And then at the start of  March, we will celebrate A-Team Learning with Family Arts Night!  Let’s keep the celebrations going!

If you have ideas for celebrations that we can add to the list, please reach out to me.  Thought partners are the best!

Have a wonderful week, everyone,

–Dr. Shyla.

As well, students will be given a special treat at lunch.  We will have “100s challenges” in different classes and during recess.  It’ll be a fun day!

Family Arts Night – T2!

Rolling with Your Sweetheart

We have our tradition of Breakfast with Your Sweetheart, where students eat a special breakfast with a loved one(s), free of charge, before school on Valentine’s Day.  There are usually live performances, great food, fun decorations, and simple love to go around.  Last year, during virtual school, we interpreted this tradition as “Rolling with Your Sweetheart” where families were able to drive up and receive a special bag of goodies for the students.  We had a DJ on the outdoor stage (brrrr!) and yard signs for people to profess what they appreciated about CNH.

This year, the CNH Board of Directors is sponsoring Rolling with Your Sweetheart with special goodie bags passed out at dismissal on February 14.  Students in aftercare will receive theirs when they leave aftercare.

Ms. Keara, our Cafe manager, and I are planning the Breakfast with Your Sweetheart tradition right before Spring Break, when the weather is warmer and we can eat outside. We are planning for a leisurely Saturday morning of brunch and yard games.
